SRFSC Member Information
How to Become a Member of the SRFSC
Becoming a member is easy: just fill out a simple application, pay annual dues, and promise to devote a few volunteer hours to the Club each year. [Underlined words link to Volunteers page.]
The quickest way to become a member is to contact the Club membership chair directly. When you join the Club, you also join the United States Figure Skating Association (if you're not already a member), and the membership chair will forward you the appropriate application. Information required includes your contact info, insurance and physician numbers (in case of emergency), and your preferences for types of volunteer service. You'll need to return the application to the membership chair with your annual dues. Families with several skaters will be happy to know that while the first skater pays full dues, fees are reduced for subsequent skaters/members in the family. Reduced dues are also available for special needs skaters and in other situations as specified on the application.
Once you've submitted the application, the membership chair will send your information to the United States Figure Skating Association, and within a few weeks you'll receive a membership card directly from the USFSA. Make sure to keep it - a unique USFSA number assigned to you will appear on the card, and you'll need it when registering for events like testing and competition.
Important Note: The SRFSC membership year runs from July 1 through June 30. So, for example, if you become a member in March, you'll be getting a renewal notice only a couple of months later. Talk with the membership chair if you have any questions - he or she will be glad to help!
